LLLT — low-level laser therapy
Low-level laser light applied to the scalp, most often as part of a wider plan rather than on its own.
What it is
Light, not heat
Low-level laser therapy applies light at a low power to the scalp. It does not cut, burn or heat the tissue — the intent is to act on the follicles rather than on the skin surface.
The medical laser used at the clinic takes several heads, so the treatment can be directed at the part of the scalp that the trichoscopic finding identifies.
A session is short and requires no recovery. There is no downtime and nothing to manage afterwards, which is why it combines easily with other treatments.
Where it fits
Rarely the whole answer
LLLT is generally used as one element of a plan rather than as a treatment on its own. It is combined with PRP or mesotherapy, and it is used after a transplant to support healing and the surrounding hair.
As with every retention treatment, it acts on follicles that are still present. Where hair has been lost entirely, laser therapy will not restore it.

Questions about LLLT
How long does a treatment take, and how often is it needed?
A session generally takes 15 to 30 minutes and is usually given once or twice a week. Both the length and the frequency vary with the individual finding and the treating physician's recommendation.
Is it uncomfortable?
No. The light is applied at low power and is not felt as heat. Nothing is injected and nothing is applied to the skin, so there is no recovery period.
What does it cost?
LLLT treatment starts from 10,000 Ft. How many sessions are appropriate is decided from the trichoscopic finding.
